Terms and Conditions

Please read carefully before making a booking

1. Services Provided

We provide chimney sweeping, inspection, and related maintenance services using appropriate tools and methods to remove soot, creosote, and debris.  While every effort is made to clean thoroughly, we cannot guarantee the complete removal of all deposits in heavily used or damaged flues.  Where additional work is required, this will be communicated.

 

2. Customer Responsibilities

  • The customer must ensure safe and clear access to the chimney/fireplace

  • Surrounding areas should be cleared of fragile or valuable items

  • Pets and children must be kept away from the work area during service

  • The customer must inform us of any known issues, e.g. blockages, damage, birds’ nests, previous chimney fires, etc

 

3. Appointments & Access

  • An adult (18+) must be present during the appointment

  • If access is not possible at the agreed time, a call-out fee may apply

  • We reserve the right to refuse service if conditions are unsafe

 

4. Pricing & Payment

  • Prices are agreed in advance or provided on-site before work begins

  • Additional charges may apply for excessive blockages, bird nest removal, or difficult access

  • Payment is due upon completion.  If this is not possible, payment must be made within 7 days of the date on the invoice

  • Late payments may incur additional charges

  • Payments may be made via cash, cheque, bank transfer or card

 

5. Cancellations

  • At least 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule

  • Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee

 

6. Cleanliness & Liability

  • We use industry-standard dust control methods; however, some dust may escape

  • We are not responsible for pre-existing damage to chimneys, flues, pots, cowls, liners, or appliances

  • Any damage claims must be reported within 24 hours of service

 

7. Safety & Compliance

  • We follow current safety guidelines and best practices

  • If we identify a safety concern (e.g. cracked flue, blockage, carbon monoxide risk), we will advise the customer immediately

  • We may refuse to continue work if a serious hazard is present

 

8. Birds’ Nests & Blockages

  • Removal of nests or severe blockages may incur additional fees

  • Work involving live animals may require specialist handling and may be postponed if necessary

 

9. Certification

  • A sweeping certificate/receipt will be provided upon completion

  • This document confirms the service carried out and describes the condition of the flue/appliance at the time of servicing, but does not guarantee the ongoing condition of the flue/appliance

 

10. Complaints

  • Any concerns should be raised as soon as possible so we can resolve the issue promptly

 

11. Insurance

  • We carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance.  Details are available upon request

 

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions at any time.  Updated versions will be made available upon request or via our website.
